The intercooler is used in a two-stage or multi-stage compression refrigeration system. It can cool the superheated vapor discharged from the low-pressure stage of the compressor into saturated vapor under intermediate pressure. At the same time, it can subcool the high-pressure liquid to increase the cooling capacity of the refrigeration system.
