Tower

A column is a 1 type of process equipment, mainly used to perform physical processes, such as separation or absorption, and to change the composition of gas or liquid mixtures. Packed tower: a certain height of packing is installed inside, the liquid flows from top to bottom along the packing, and the gas flows from bottom to top in countercurrent contact with the liquid film for material transfer. Packed columns are often used in distillation, water absorption, extraction and other operations.

In addition, the tower can also be classified according to the application field, structure and working principle. For example, chemical tower, environmental protection tower, food tower and pharmaceutical tower, etc., they are used in different process operations.

The main functions of the tower include catalyzing or adsorbing chemical reactions, providing surface active sites to promote the reaction, and improving the reaction efficiency and product quality in the processes of oil refining, hydrogen production, cracking, and desulfurization. At the same time, they can also be used for the purification treatment of exhaust gas containing harmful gases, and the adsorption or catalytic conversion of harmful substances into harmless compounds.
